South Texas Spring Cups
Kick Off This Month!

Exciting tournaments kick off statewide for players
of all ages, genders, and skill levels

The most exciting time of the year is here! STYSA hosts a series of Spring Cups each year that are designed to provide a wide variety of competitions to best fit the skill and ability level of each individual team and group of players.

South Texas Youth Soccer hosts the following Cup competitions in the Spring (it should be noted that the format and details of each Cup may differ based on the Cup entered and the District in which you play):

South Texas State Cup is part of the US Youth Soccer National Championships (National Cup), and is an open-entry competition for top-level Division 1 teams. Top-level Division I teams are typically defined as teams playing in the PLW or SCL. The competition is open to Under-13 (U13) through Under-19 (U19) boys and girls teams. Winning teams in certain age groups will advance to Southern Regionals, with possible advancement to the US Youth Soccer National Championships.

Presidents Cup is an open entry competition that is strongly recommended for Super II and lower-level Division I teams. Lower-level Division I teams are typically defined as teams finishing in the lower half of the standings of the Division I league in which they played in during the Fall 2012 season. The competition is open to Under-13 (U13) through Under-19 (U19) boys and girls teams from the Fall 2012 season, and will play 11v11. The U18 and U19 teams will play in a combined age bracket, designated U19. South Texas Presidents Cup state champions in the U13-U17 age groups will represent South Texas at the US Youth Soccer Region III Presidents Cup, with possible advancement to the National finals.

Directors Cup is an open-entry competition for all Division 2 and Division 3 teams, along with Super 2 teams that do not qualify for President’s Cup (please see the qualification list on the Presidents Cup page linked at right prior to registering). This competition is open to Under-11 (U11) through Under-19 (U19) boys and girls teams.

South Texas Cup is a developmental-level statewide competition restricted to South Texas-registered Division II and Division III boys and girls teams in the U11 through U19 age groups. Siimilar to Fall Championships, play begins within the local Association and then advances to District level play based on an allocation process, then concludes with a State Tournament.
