San Antonio Plays Host To
STYSA President's Cup

The weekend of May 22-23 saw a total of 61 Under-11 through Under-19 teams from Eastern and Western District and El Paso come together to compete in the 2010 South Texas Youth Soccer Association President's Cup Championships at the new S.T.A.R. Soccer Complex in San Antonio.

The boys and girls Champions in the Under-13 through Under-17 age groups along with the wild-card teams U13 Girls New Braunfels 97 Lady Rapids and the U15 Girls Space City 95G advanced to the US Youth Soccer Region III President's Cup Championship Tournament in Broken Arrow, Okla., June 11-13. There, they faced the champions from the other Region III states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Texas, Oklahoma, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

When the dust had settled on Sunday, three South Texas teams had laid claim to Region III President's Cup Championships.

The U15 Texas Nike Rush 94/95 and the U17 Texas Nike Rush 92/93 will join 2009 defending National Champion Thunders United 94 at the US Youth Soccer President's Cup National Championships, July 8-11, in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Follow along with their results at usyouthsoccer.org/presidentscup.
