IF A PLAYER WAS BORN IN ANOTHER COUNTRY

FIFA requires all players under the age of 17, regardless of their ability or citizenship, to receive an International Transfer Clearance ("ITC") from their former country when they are attempting to register to play soccer in a different country (i.e., the United States). Although this requirement has been in place for many years for players age 17 and older, the requirements changed as of July 1, 2011 to include all ages.

Registrars have been made aware of the requirement and will be providing parents of players who fall within this category with the necessary forms to complete and return to them with the documentation to support their request. Upon receipt of the documentation from the local club, the forms will be submitted to U.S. Soccer for their approval.

Specifics on the requirements can be found on the STYSA website.
